To get to Gare de L'Est from Hotel des Métallos:
take rue de la folie méricourt on your right and rue oberkampf on your left, you will reach Boulevard Voltaire just after Boulevard Richard Lenoir, take the Métro 5 from Oberkmampf and alight at Gare de l'Est.
